Sailing from Golfito
Golfito is where people go when the fishing is the reason for the trip. The Golfo Dulce drops to real depth close in, the offshore grounds off the Osa hold billfish through most of the year, and the inshore structure produces roosterfish and cubera snapper that would be the fish of the trip anywhere else. It is remote, it takes an extra flight, and that is exactly why it still fishes the way it does.
Season: Sailfish peak December through April. Marlin show through much of the year with a strong late-season run. Inshore roosterfish and cubera are close to year-round. Wetter and greener than Guanacaste — that is the trade for the fishing.
Getting here: About an hour by air from San José to Golfito (GLF), or a long 6–7 hour drive. Tell us where you are staying and we will sort transport to the dock.
Departures: Golfito, Golfo Dulce. You get the exact vessel, berth and meeting time in your written confirmation — we do not leave you wandering a marina at 5am looking for a boat name.
How we get you on the water
No boat is permanently berthed in Golfito. We run it by bringing a vessel down from Guanacaste or by working with a boat already on the Golfo Dulce — which means Golfito trips need more notice than Papagayo or Flamingo, and we confirm the exact vessel before you pay anything. Give us two weeks where you can. Ask and we will tell you honestly what is possible on your dates.
What runs from here

The full run to blue water. Marlin, sailfish, dorado and tuna, with a crew that has fished these banks for a decade.

Real offshore fishing on a shorter clock. Best for dorado, tuna and whatever is holding close to the shelf.

Consecutive days on the same boat with the same crew. The way the fishing actually compounds.

Rocky structure, live bait, and the hardest-pulling fish in Costa Rica within twenty minutes of the beach.

The Pacific goes gold for about twenty minutes. We put you in the right place for all of it.

Two or three quiet spots along the coast, clear water, and nobody else on the reef.

A full day on the water built around an anchorage most visitors never see.

Retreats, incentive trips and client days. Multiple boats, one point of contact, one invoice.
