The Ocean Club standard
Booking a boat in a country you do not live in is an act of faith. You send money to a name you found online and then you wait, hoping the boat exists, the captain speaks your language, and the price does not change when you get to the dock. Most people who charter in Costa Rica have a story about one of those going wrong.
Ocean Club exists to make that story impossible. We publish real prices with nothing hidden behind them. We name the boat and the captain in your confirmation. We answer messages the same day, in English, from a person. If we cancel for weather, you get every dollar back — and we would rather take that hit than put you on the water on a bad day.
None of that is remarkable. It is just what a professional operation looks like, and on this coast that turns out to be rare enough to build a brand on.
Ocean Club & Salt Water
Salt Water owns and operates the boats. Eight vessels on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, along with the captains, the mates, the maintenance schedule and the marina relationships. That side of the business has been running for years and it is genuinely good at it.
Ocean Club is the charter brand. We handle the booking, the pricing, the communication and the guest experience from first enquiry to the follow-up after you get off the boat. When you book with Ocean Club, you are booking a Salt Water vessel with a Salt Water crew.
We say this plainly because the alternative — a brand that quietly subcontracts to whoever has a boat free — is common here and it is exactly what goes wrong. Nothing about your trip is outsourced. The company that takes your booking and the company that runs your boat are the same people.
The crew
A charter company is its captains. Ours have worked this coast for a long time, they talk to each other daily about where the bite is, and they are the reason guests come back.
Replace with the real captains before launch. Each one needs their actual name, years on the coast, a bio taken from a real conversation, and written permission plus a photo. Do not publish a named person who has not agreed to appear.

Where we operate
Papagayo and Flamingo in Guanacaste, and Golfito in the far south. The fleet lives here, the fishing is here, and we would rather be genuinely excellent on one coast than thinly spread across two. The Caribbean comes later, once the new marina opens and once this is running the way it should.
