Flamingo Charters

Guanacaste's working sportfishing marina.

Sailing from Flamingo

Why people come to Flamingo.

Flamingo has been the fishing marina of the north Pacific for as long as anyone has been fishing it commercially, and the rebuilt marina put proper infrastructure back under it. The offshore grounds are a manageable run, the inshore rock structure holds roosterfish and cubera, and the beaches either side make it an easy base for a group where only half the party wants to fish.

Season: Offshore sailfish and marlin run strongest May through September. Inshore roosterfish fish well most of the year. Dry season December through April gives the calmest inshore days.

Getting here: About an hour from Liberia (LIR), or roughly 4.5 hours from San José. Tell us where you are staying and we will sort transport to the dock.

Departures: Marina Flamingo. You get the exact vessel, berth and meeting time in your written confirmation — we do not leave you wandering a marina at 5am looking for a boat name.

4 of our 8 vessels are home-ported at Marina Flamingo. Boats do move between marinas for multi-day and corporate work — ask and we will tell you what is possible.
